The EURO STOXX 50 Index is a blue-chip representation of Supersector leaders in the Eurozone in terms of free-float market capitalization. It is comprised of fifty of the largest and most liquid stocks from 11 European countries owned by Deutsche Borse, Dow Jones and SWX Group. The EURO STOXX 50 was launched on 26 February 1998 and is reviewed annually in September. The index's weightings are calculated quarterly to account for changes in market caps.
